With a background in Fine Arts, Dimitri Capuani will be sharing how his experience led him to create some of the world’s most famous productions such as “Gangs of New York”, “Hugo” and “Dogman”. As a production designer, Capuani applied  his artistic touch also to established brands such as Dior and Cavalli, working on renowned and beautiful fashion films such as Dior’s “Le Mythe” and the brand’s latest film for its summer – spring collection 2021 as well as multiple commercials for Roberto Cavalli’s collections.

Dimitri Capuani is an Italian Production Designer for feature films.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome (1993) and a Master’s Degree in Set Design from Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (CSC). After graduating immediately began working as draughtsman alongside the celebrated director, Franco Zeffirelli, designing sets for several Operas.

His long collaboration with legendary Oscar-Winning Dante Ferretti started in 1998 with “Titus” directed by Julie Taymor, continuing with Cold Mountain (2003) by Antony Minghella, Gangs of New York (2002) and Hugo Cabret (2011) both directed by Martin Scorsese.

In 2013, Dimitri worked in Buenos Aires with the Director Juan Pablo Buscarini for the argentinian blockbuster, “The Games Maker”, a fantasy film for which he won the Premio Sur for best Production Design.

Back in Italy, Dimitri began a successful collaboration with the Italian director Matteo Garrone, creating the sets for “Tale of Tales” (2015) and “Dogman” (2018), both of which won the Nastro d’Argento and the David di Donatello for Best Production Design.

Dimitri is currently involved to create the production design for the film “Pinocchio” directed by Matteo Garrone.
